500 miles by a rickety night train, local buses and multiple rickshaws
We traveled over 500 miles by a rickety night train, local buses and multiple rickshaws, until we finally arrived in the sleepy village of McLeod Ganj. Upon our arrival in this cozy western Indian town, we were greeted by nonstop rain, high winds, and freezing temperatures. We endured countless nights of what seemed like a perpetual downpour. It wasn’t until the eve before The Dalai Lama arrived to his mountain top residence did the rain stop. The clouds cleared and we were rewarded with this magnificent view of the Himalaya Mountains. We couldn’t help but believe His Holiness held great power in making this happen.
