I'm always seeking out new spices to add to my culinary creations, and oregano has quickly become a new favorite.
 
The origins of oregano date back to ancient Greece, where it was believed to be a symbol of joy and happiness. It was also used for its medicinal properties, such as aiding digestion and treating respiratory issues. Today, oregano is a staple in Mediterranean cuisine and beyond, lending its robust flavor to a variety of dishes.
 
Meeting with locals, I learned about the unique growing conditions that make Turkish oregano so special. The sun-soaked hillsides and rocky terrain produce a potent and flavorful herb that I couldn't wait to incorporate into my cooking.
