However, my recent trip to Kampot, Cambodia, was a game-changer. I was introduced to the fiery flavor of red peppercorns, a spice I had not yet encountered in my culinary adventures.
Meeting the local farmers and learning about the origins and history of red peppercorns was an eye-opening experience. I discovered that red peppercorns are a rare and prized variety of peppercorns, with a distinct spicy and fruity flavor profile that sets them apart from black and white peppercorns. They are hand-harvested and sun-dried, adding to their unique character.
In addition to their delicious flavor, I learned that red peppercorns have a long history of use in traditional Cambodian medicine for their anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits. It's no surprise that they have become a sought-after ingredient in high-end restaurants around the world.
