Bananas Foster (Inspired by Brennan’s Restaurant New Orleans’s)
Serves 4
Ingredients: 4 medium-size ripe bananas 1/2 cup butter 1 cup packed light brown sugar Dash of ground cinnamon 1/4 cup banana liqueur 1/2 cup rum 1.5 quarts of vanilla bean ice cream
You’ll Need: 1 knife 1 large skillet 4 bowls 1 wooden spoon 4 spoons
Lets Cook! 1. Slice bananas into thin slices 2. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat 3. Add brown sugar and stir using wooden spoon until sugar is melted. (2 minutes) 4. Carefully add bananas to pan and sprinkle in cinnamon, toss together 5. Take the skillet off the heat, pour in the rum and and banana liqueur 6. Ignite the fumes from the rum just above the mixture, using a long lighter 7. Allow flames to die down and then return to heat 8. Continue to cook 3 minutes or until bananas are soft Chef Steven Ferneding 9. Scoop ice cream into bowls and pour banana mixture over 10. Enjoy and Happy Cooking!
